McGill Decisions Class of 2022 (Entering 2018)

Made it in mid-December, thought I should post.

Faculty: both Engineering and Arts
Citizenship status: US only
UW GPA: 4.0 (weighted 4.67)
SAT/Subject tests: 1580 (790 and 790), Math 2: 760, Bio: 740, Chem 780
Major scholarship of $5,000

I’m visiting soon, not sure if I am going to end up going there, depends on the last few college decisions. I want to do both mechanical engineering and linguistics, but I’m not sure how that’s going to phase out/if that’s even possible.

Hi, I have a quick question. My application status says ready for review. I just wanted to confirm that it means that all my documentation is complete and they are evaluating my application.

Is it unlikely to be accepted from the waiting list?

Yes, they will be evaluating your application since it says “ready for review.”

Hi there,
No, it is not unlikely.
A friend of mine is attending McGill this year as a first-year undergraduate in Software Engineering (BEng) and he was waitlisted first but then accepted into the program a month later in early July. He was accepted into the other programs he applied to from the first try though so I don’t know if this made a difference on his place on the waitlist.

Hey everyone!
Just wondering if there are any other transfer students that have heard back/have had their file opened. I uploaded my university transcript on Feb 28th and was asked for my high school grades on March 16th (2 weeks later). I’m now waiting for a decision and kind of surprised that they’ve replied so quickly since most transfer students receive any kind of notice in May (or at least so I’ve heard.)

Applied to: BA Undeclared (Psych) and BSc Psychology
Citizenship status: Cyprus/UK (International students woooop!)
Transfer student from a UK university
College GPA: 3.75

Admitted Pending Final Results
Faculty: Bachelor of Arts
Citizenship status: American
UW GPA: 3.74
ACT: 32
SAT/Subject tests: 1410 / 760 (Literature) 660 (Math)
Not sure how I squeaked in, but glad I did!

Has anyone applied for US Direct Loans yet? Looks like option for 2018/2019 is there in Minerva.

Just wanted to say a quick goodbye to this thread. I won’t be committing to McGill because of my US acceptances yesterday, but this has been a really supportive forum and McGill will always have a special place in my heart. Good luck to all! :x

Best of luck to you, @writergirl0316!

What are the chances of getting off the waitlist?

Waitlisted: Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Management
W GPA: Around 4.0 (not exactly sure bc I transferred HS)
ACT: 29
AP’s: 4
Citizenship: US only
Thanks!

Is it usual for major scholarship review to take a long time? It has been 5 weeks since acceptance and still says, “under review”. Thank you for any information!

Finally got an email from professor with scholarship info - but still waiting on official mailed acceptance with scholarship and update in Minerva - driving us crazy - okay me crazy Son is so chill I’m thinking he is made of ice. Things are different in music for sure but this seems so odd to me. I guess I have to get used to Canada 'eh

@GlamperMama Congratulations! McGill operates on its own schedule.

Got the Reviewed - Decision Pending , lol dunno where to do while waiting for this

@Barekk me too, do you mind me asking which country you’re from because they might release all decisions in a particular region at the same time

Reviewed Decision Pending in the US (Illinois). This is for the general application, not for a scholarship.

Is it normal to be Reviewed Decision Pending after the first of may ? idk kinda weird but meh what can i do

Been like this for a month
