how about instagram lol
@jm18271 Last year it took anywhere from a day to several weeks.
@kyrieXY @rueece Congrats aye! hope to see u there if i get accepted lol. McGill is basically my #1 option
Okay so I submitted my mid-year grades yesterday but I’m still in “Further review required” despite uploading everything they need. Is anyone else experiencing this? I’m guessing they might just haven’t been able to look over my application since I’ve uploaded it so it’s still stuck there.
@Resurgens What program did you apply to? It seems that arts gets admitted sooner than some of the other programs (just my experience so far)
@cawledgecollege4 I had one for both arts and sciences. Hopefully I’ll get accepted soon. I’m way above the minimum, but there’s no way to tell when they’ll hand down decisions at this point.
Decision: Accepted
Faculty: Arts and Arts & Sciences
Citizenship status: US Citizen
UW GPA: 4.0
ACT, or SAT/Subject tests: 35C ACT, 800 US History, 750 Math II
Any pertinent major entrance scholarship information: Haven’t applied for major entrance scholarship yet, but I will! (Won’t be affordable otherwise.)
@Resurgens i uploaded my mid year grades on december 19th and am still in further review required. kind of concerned
@glblhealthnerd I graduated from McGill and
@jm18271 I called them yesterday and asked if there was anything else I needed to do. I was worried that I needed to upload predicted IB grades alongside my regular US High School grades. What they told me is that if you’ve uploaded everything that’s on your checklist, you’re good. They said it might take awhile to get back after grades have been uploaded because they finish doing the first review of everyone’s application before moving on to those who have uploaded mid year grades already. I wouldn’t worry about it and just give it time. It’ll work out.
@jm18271 What @Resurgens said is very consistent with what my son experienced when he applied last year. The McGill process is unlike any in the U.S. and take a bit of patience and faith on everyone’s part. (Truth: my son decided last year that he didn’t want to keep checking Minerva so he “assigned” that task to me. Helped keep his stress in check.)
Got further review required and they just asked for my toefl score. March is the deadline to submit external exams right? My counselor told me that she thinks i will get accepted once i send it
@Resurgens If you don’t mind me asking, what are your stats? I’m WAY above the minimum too and also got Further Review Required, which came as a bit of a surprise.
Accepted!!
D had previously been “further review required.” She submitted her midterm grades late last night, and when she checked her portal this morning, it said “Admitted Pending Final Results.” That was fast!
Faculty of Arts and Sciences: accepted
Faculty of Arts: accepted
Citizenship status: US/Canada dual citizen, living in US
UW GPA: 4.0
ACT: 34
Any pertinent major entrance scholarship information: none yet, but she applied for a Major Entrance Scholarship.
McGill is one of D’s top three choices.
@lesjubilants I have a 35 ACT (35,34,36,36), and a 99% average in an IB program in the US. I wouldn’t worry. It’s just impossible to know when they’ll check/accept.
@ShrimpBurrito Congrats! We’ve had very different experiences after uploading grades, so far but that update gives me hope that I’ll get my decision soon.
@Resurgens I’m sorry–I can imagine how frustrating that it. Hang in there.
@ShrimpBurrito Congratulations! I am so happy for you and your daughter! If you have any McGill questions as she goes through the decision process, PM me. Happy to share what my son and I have learned this year. My son just started his second semester classes yesterday; he’s really excited about his courses this semester.
@Resurgens Hang in there. The McGill process can be frustrating but it always seems to work.
Yay!! Congrats <3 @shrumpburrito
