McGill GPA vs ACT?

Hey Guys!

So I was talking to my counselor about the McGill and he didn’t seem to know too much about it. I go to a private boarding school in the US but am a Canadian citizen. Would I be evaluated as an American applicant? Do I stand much of a chance with my low GPA?

Going into Life Sciences track hopefully!

I think you are fine to be honest. You will be evaluated as a U.S student because you go to a high school in the US, plain and simple. Furthermore, McGill only looks at GPA and Test Scores in their application process so there is no room for EC’s unless you are applying for a scholarship (which does not have any bearing in your admission). At least from my high school’s Naviance, it seems relatively easy to get into McGill (for US students anyway). Of course, it depends on which faculty you are applying to; however, you will probably get in.

Her are the minimum requirements for admission for US students:

Assuming that you are going into Science you GPA may be an issue but you will likely be admitted.

Have the same stats as you ACT and GPA Wise. Hoping to get in. My 1st semester senior year GPA is 4.0 with 4 AP classes but my application is still marked as Reviewed – Decision Pending. Definitely let us know your results!
