McGill University '25 (entering fall '21) for US students - thoughts? doubts? stats? results?

Does anyone know how waitlisting at McGill works? I just got waitlisted for Arts today, I have a 4.0 unweighted and was test optional. I know on their website it says they don’t want supplementary materials, but might that work to remind them of my interest? They also didn’t give any deadline of when to expect an answer by. Kinda feels like I’ve been waiting forever and now have no idea when or if I’m gonna hear again.

Just got rejected for science. Screw AP Chem. Praying for a waitlist acceptance off of management.

I’m not sure if parents are allowed to stay in the dorms…plus the rooms in Molson (like much of Upper Rez) are singles…great for one not designed for two! (My son was in Molson…and loved it.) When we visited we tended to get an AirBnb nearby - much less expensive than a hotel…plus we got to cook for the kids.

anybody know when you have to commit to McGill if accepted ?

It is written on the Acceptance Letter. It is around May 1 usually.

Hi there ! My daughter was just rejected from McGill so she was disappointed . However she received an offer from Concordia JMSB, can you offer any insight as you mentioned you have another son there ? Thanks so much !

JMSB has met/exceded expectations. Classes are rigorous - especially the finance/accounting. Though grading. In spite of most of his college experience being online because of COVID he has maintained a good GPA. There are a lot of clubs, etc. though many of these have been dormant. Things are definitely picking back up. Good employers come looking for students to hire; placement is good. My son wants to do video game marketing so he is doing more searching on his own. As challenging as COVID has made things, my son is very, very happy with JMSB. Let me know if she has any specific questions.

Great to hear it, SD. I have heard good things about the business school there, and at York in Toronto. What S1 has found(final year at Desautels) is that there are a fair amount of Concordia students who end up getting Certificates at McGill after graduation, and vice versa.
One of S1’s best profs was a young guy who also taught at Concordia.
