Just an FYI, McGill admission office says they do not look at AP scores in the admissions’ process. They look at grades and test scores only.
Does McGill give the traditional May 1st “accept by date”?

That’s $48k CAD, so about $37,756 USD today.
yes, it converts to around 40k USD which is pretty much at the same level as state flagships for OOS
If it’s CAD 48k then it’s (only) 38k in US dollars, so probably half as much as most top private US colleges.
It’s 38k on google currency converter. Is the currency lower somewhere? The tuition is cheaper than the private schools, but not much comparing to the OOS public schools.
I understand there could be a lot of other benefits McGill offers, but probably cost is not one of those, unless you are seeking a BA or BAS degree.
Yeah that’s true, especially for American applicants because it’s quite usual in the US to pay about 50k a year. My opinion is biased since I’m a French applicant and pay Canadian out of province fees.
I agree that it is a better value for BA and BAS. However, if the CAD slides to $.69-$.73 to the dollar it becomes quite attractive, especially if you can move multiple years of tuition and living expenses into Canadian currency at that rate.
That would be ideal if it goes that way
so we are talking about 10k vs 48k. Good for you!
Just wondering if anybody else got a status change at some random time tonight? Mine went from “Ready for Review” to “Further Review Required”
because of the difference in high school level education systems, do US students require any supplemental classes their freshman year?
No, assuming that you have taken the standard US curriculum. If something was missing you would not have been offered admission.
My daughter’s status changed as well.
This may be a helpful link for some:
My D21 got an update to her portal that asked for ‘Fall Courses and Results.’ However, she doesn’t get those until February! I suppose I’ll we can do is wait it out, but it makes me nervous knowing admissions are rolling and her app will get decided later in the cycle. Has this happened to anyone else?
Just checked Minerva and D2 has been admitted to faculty of arts. US Northeast school, test optional. No email yet.
Also, wanted to add, she applied to Uof T and was accepted on 12/15. Now it’s decision time!
Do you mind sharing her stats? You are the first test optional I have heard!!! Congrats to you. When did she apply?
Congratulations to your daughter!! I hope she is super excited.
Did she have to submit Term 1 of Semester 1 grades?
I am from Toronto area (now live in Northeast US) - U of T is a great school and Toronto is an incredible city! She can’t go wrong with either school. Has your daughter been able to visit either school?
She applied as soon as the portal opened, I think it was at the end of October.
Her high school is rigorous and has accepted others in previous years, so I think that helps when they’re familiar with the school. When I look on naviance, I can see a handful of kids applied from her high school about 10 years ago, but only started accepting them maybe five years ago.
She has strong grades - only one B her entire high school career. She’s taken a mix of honors and AP (4) classes.
Her school is on semesters. She submitted her first quarter grades at the end of November. Second quarter ends next week.
