McGraw tower

There was recently an event and they mentioned the Big Red Ambition: 161 Things Every Cornellian Should Do. One of it was request a song for tower. I went on website and there was only request specialty concerts which costs 90$ min. Does anyone know how to just request a song for free or do they not do such things?

the best way to do that would be to actually know one of those chimes players...

but there are obviously people who can afford that on this campus...i </3 seeing chicks on their laptops during class browsing for 200$++ dresses which they will inevitably purchase...

Just walk up to the top of the tower before/during one of the concerts and ask whoever's playing the chimes...and as long as they know how, they should play whatever you want.

just a correction: it's $90 per 15 minutes, and usually only people who are getting married in Sage request them. sometimes there are people proposing to their girlfriends with a concert, or a parent requesting a birthday concert for their kid.

otherwise, just climb up to the top of the tower, and ask the chimesmaster who's playing. and if they know the song, they'll play it.

and if it's something that you know in advance that you want played, you can ask nicely in an email.

There's a difference between requesting a song at a regularly scheduled concert (7:45AM, 1:10 PM, and 6PM) and requesting a special concert at a time of your choosing. Just climb up to the top of the tower, say hello to the Chimesmaster, and enjoy the view!

This is sort of an embarrassing question to ask, but um, how do you climb the tower?

they rent out rock climbing gear on the ground floor

...jk, you walk up the stairs :P

i adored these concerts when i went...except it was so hard to hear my tourguide over them! But so pretty to hear.

the door to the tower opens 10 min before every concert and they close about 10 min into the concert. concerts are weekdays at 7:45am, 1:10pm, and 6:00pm, and weekends at 10:10am, 12pm, and 6pm. it usually takes people around 5 min to get to the top.

Ohh I see, thanks. Maybe i'll send an email asking if its possible =) since I doubt they'll know the song
