damn thats pretty amazing

well played, uva, well played ;-)

As I was perusing the Business Week site, I particularly liked this comment from a 4th year Comm student:

"At my internship this summer, I was often complimented on my command of accounting, writing, and speaking, often over the interns who had attended Ivy League schools. I would heartily recommend my program to someone interested in business because not only are hard skills like financial modeling and accounting stressed, but students learn in a positive, non-competitive environment, which encourages leadership in extracurricular activities and having a social life."

Sounds good to me. I'm not a big fan of undergraduate business, but it looks like this ranking is among the more substantive rankings that have been published. It takes into account a variety of factors, and Business Week seems to have done its research, as evidenced by their well-selected quotes :) .

Congratulations Uva!

when my business teacher showed our class the rankings I was a bit surprised. i knew it was good but #2 wow, very reassuring considering Im going to UVA and hope to enter McIntire. But then again these rankings ranked JMU at #35 so i question their methodology. How can JMU with basically every column worse than UMD-college park be ranked above them?

Anybody know what the ranking was last year? I believe it was top 10, but not number 2 in the country. That's way cool!

spicoli, this is the first year that Business Week has done this ranking. The other one you're thinking of is USNews, which uses a less comprehensive methodology.

Please note this is NOT the first year Business Week has done the ranking of undergraduate business schools. I am aware they have done it before in the previous years because last year, I myself used this ranking for my IB business coursework to evaluate "best-value" schools using the discounting method.

dude, don't knock JMU ;)

Oh really? I guess I had seen it elsewhere that it was their first year with ugrad rankings. My bad.

"Our first-ever ranking of the Top 50 undergraduate programs in the U.S. finds a depth of academic rigor and a degree in fine fettle"

It's first-ever ranking of the TOP50...They did a Top 25 ranking when I used that for my business coursework back last year.

NYU

BYU

Wow

"It's first-ever ranking of the TOP50...They did a Top 25 ranking when I used that for my business coursework back last year."

i want that top25 list, for undergrad!
