<p>How prestigious is the mcintire school of commerce at uva? I'm particulary interested in finance (possibly investment banking) and was just wondering how well its students are placed in terms of job opportunities (especially finance). Thanks</p>

<p>McIntire does very well compared to business schools nationwide - it's consistently ranked as a top 10 program. Most major firms come to UVA to recruit, and you'd likely not face much difficulty in getting a job. If you're interested, here's the 2005 placement report:</p>
<p>thanks a lot guys, that employment report was especially helpful. I know this is always a touchy subject, but how about comparing it to some other schools out there? I think we all know there a few programs that stand above (wharton, harvard econ, etc). But about where would Mcintire fall when comparing to other schools (nyu stern, michigan ross, duke econ, northwestern econ, etc etc) in terms of career placement, especially finance.
