McIntire

Currently I am a VCCS student interested in transferring to UVA in the fall. After finding out more information on the application process I have been put into sort of a dilemma and was looking for thoughts on my current situation. As many of you probably already know, you can only choose one school in your application. Initially I was interested in McIntire but with its extremely low acceptance rate I was considering playing it on the safe side and applying to the College of Arts and Sciences instead. Realistically I would rather be studying at McIntire but I don't feel very confident about my chances getting in. After looking at my classes and extracurriculars please provide opinions on what school you would apply to if you were in the situation. Thank in advance for the help.

Also if applying to McIntire should I give an explanation for my C grade in microeconomics or will it make me look like I'm trying to make excuses?

Sorry for the long post and thanks again to anyone who replies.

I can't give you any solid advice, however I can tell you what I picked up from their tour. They put significant weight on the pre req classes (micro being one of them), so that may hurt you... your overall GPA is above their average though. If you applied to CAS instead, the only major close to a McIntire major would be Economics.

I know this is past the deadline, but if I were you, I would definitely apply to McIntire. They look at a lot of things aside from GPA, and you have great course loads, extra currics, and good overall GPA. Which did you decide to apply to?
