<p>It is. The honors application is the application for top scholarships…Carolina scholars for SC students and McNair for out of state. Note that you have to send it in on an earlier deadline than regular admissions, even if you aren’t doing early action</p>
<p>Application deadline is Nov 15.</p>
<p>Honestly, the way it really works out is that the essay portion of the honors application is truly the McNair/Carolina app. Your scores, GPA, resume, etc. determines admission to the Honors College. They pick the candidates for McNair/Carolina based on that factor plus the strength of the essays. A lot of the McNair interview was heavily based on my answers to those essays.</p>
<p>Basically, be very careful with that honors app! Show them an entirely different quality of you with each essay.</p>
