Does anyone know any pre-MD/PhD applicants in Cornell? What are the stats for for students from this program in terms of acceptance into such a program? Please provide feedback.

There's really no MD/PhD stats available anywhere because the sample sizes are too small. Only 35 or so med schools have MSTP programs and a few more with non-NIH affiliated MD/PhD programs. The average MSTP program probably only has around 10 students. So, you are looking at just 400 or so MD/PhD students nation-wide compared with 17000 non-MD/PhD students.

I attend a cancer research meeting every year and so I have the chance to interact with college students and medical students.

At one point I was considering doing an MD/PhD. Anyone can apply...but those who are successful in gaining admission usually have superb numbers. The people I spoke to this year had 35+ MCAT and 3.8+ GPA. Also...it is important that you have significant research experience...1 summer in the lab usually won't cut it.
