Meal Plans

Alright I just need some input. I will start my freshman year this fall and I know all students are different, but do you think it's really necessary to get a meal plan that will allow my left over $$ on to the next semester? Or should I choose the meal plan that's just day to day.

And can anybody just give me any input on their experiences about freshman year?

Thank you.

How much do you eat? Do you think you’re going to use all the money or not?

Like PRiNCESSMAHiNA said, if you think you are going to use all the money leftover then go for it.

In our college, the minimum was the 210 plan which meant you can go to the dining hall 210 times in total during the semester. Everyone I know including me ended up with 40 extra meal swipes/trips by the end of the semester.

Hope it helps.

It’s usually easy to add money to your meal plan later if you decide you need it, but you probably won’t get a refund of unused funds. I propose that you err on the side of a smaller meal plan.

My college makes all freshman buy a full meal plan (= 3 meals/day). Few students really want to pay $8 for breakfast but we don’t get much of a choice in that regard. If I wasn’t forced to buy more meals, I would probably use 5-10 meals per week on campus (lunch and some dinner on school days). Breakfast is too expensive and inconvenient, and weekend meals are leftovers that nobody wanted to eat during the week.

sorry for the late replies guys. I don’t eat a lot, but i do eat more than average I would say. The meal plans for this school is like “use it or lose it” or the ones that have time limits or no allowance for the wknd. So I just picked the one that can go to the spring semester if I have some left over; basically the most expensive. But I can always change it.

Thank you all, sorry for the late reply again.
