Does anyone have any information on which meal plans make sense? My son goes to a college where there is only one meal plan, so he didn't have to choose. Northwestern has all these different options, so this is new territory. Any ideas?

i think the blocks make more sense but it depends.

Weekly 16: Eat 16 times a week.
Weekly 13: Eat 13 times a week.
Unlimited: Eat as many times a week as you want.
Unlimited Plus: Unlimited with late night meals too.
Block A, B, C, D: Confuses me too.

block is basically they put it in as cash + some more stuff.

Block meal plans are even more of a rip off than the weekly and unlimited plans, but can definitely make sense. I like many others had trouble budgeting my meals and points accurately.

I had the 13-meal plan fall quarter, then block D winter and block B spring. For me, block B was the best thing ever. Yeah, budgeting meals got a little crazy sometimes, but I spent a lot of time in Norris for work and being able to use a meal in the food court was really convenient. at the very end of the year I had like 5 meals remaining and I just bought a bunch of junk food that I normally would never eat, just for the hell of it - I live close to campus and just took it home for munchies, hahahah. I know people who have had over 20 meals remaining on their block plan, but that’s cause they ate out a bunch. I definitely plan on staying on a block plan.

yeah, block B looked like the best block option. i’m trying not to gain the f15 so i’ll be trying to avoid the dining halls lol.

i guess most of the plans are rip-offs but oh well, they are at most schools.
