I was wondering what it means by "block." Is it just the number of meals? or it really depends on the amount of food you get regardless of the number of meals? And the difference between dining points, blue bucks, and meals...is it that if you're out of dining points/blue bucks, you can put money into your account and continue using them (are dining points and blue bucks basically the same...cuz you can use blue bucks wherever dining points are accepted?) but if you're out of meals, then you've to pay a hell a lot of money for even one meal...? some say the unlimited plan is a total waste...and it seems like 150 is enough for most people...I eat a lot (as a girl). Should I choose 120? Do people eat in the cafeteria most of the time or they eat out once they're on weekends? (i.e. do people pick 150 because they dont eat in cafeteria quite often?)

hey,
- yes block is a certain no. of meal , the minimum is 125. When you enter the dining hall you swap your card and you can eat as much you want. Therefore you can swap your card only 125 times during one semester.
2)Dining Dollar is money on your M card that you can only to buy snacks and candy from University owned shops.( you can use blue bucks here if your out of dining dollars)
3)Blue bucks is also money on your M card that you can used to do your laundry and buy food from places like Wendy’s , Subway , Panda Express. The ones which are on campus will only accept them.( you cant use dining dollars if your out of blue bucks here.)

Pick the 125 meal plan… because you wont finish it most probably…most people i know had a lot of meals left at the end of the year… and there is a lot of neat places to eat in ann arbor …

hope this helps…:)

Thankyou very much!

I have four more questions…

is there a TV in every dorm room? (is it necessary to have one?)

how do you know about what classes you should take before you pick your classes during orientation ? (I did find on Wolverine my academic requirements…but it’s very vague and it barely mentions the number of credits needed)

Can I bring a photo of my own for the MCard? if so, what size? does it have to be an electronic one? if not, do i have to take a photo there?

Is there wireless in Bursley?

Pick the lowest amount of meals. I almost always grabbed a bagel or something for breakfast after I left dinner. It saved a lot of time in the morning. As a result, I had a ton of meals left over.

There aren’t TVs in the dorm rooms. There is cable in every room if you want to bring a TV. I was fine watching movies and shows on my laptop.

You’ll talk about what you want to take with an adviser at orientation. You get to take pretty much whatever interests you. You can start by looking at the prereqs for majors that interest you or classes that fulfill requirements such as first year writing, language, etc.

You can send your photo in ahead of time or you used to be able to. If you don’t send one in, you will need to take one there.

Yes, there is wireless in Bursley.

Thankyou twoblue! Do you have to cancel the “cables” you got (if there’s no way im going to be able to bring a tv)?

about the photo, whom shall I send to? (I emailed the office of the new students program before, they never responded)

I don’t need to bring a chord if there’s wireless in every dorm, right?

Yes, you should cancel cable in the room if you won’t have a TV in the room. It can be done online in the first few weeks of fall semester.

You don’t need a cord for internet in Bursley. The rooms have wireless internet.
