Well it is logical, why would brown send that a week before notifications. I’m going to say that MOST final decisions were made late February to mid march prob around the 15th with some remaining meetings here and there. Think about it. The FA and admissions office directly coincide with one another. They need at least 2 weeks to get FA together and another week to get everything sorted which leads me to believe that decisions were mostly finalized by march 15.

If you got this email it isn’t definite. I know someone that got something similiar to this from johns Hopkins and was denied. However who knows

I also find it wierd how some people recieved that alumni letter in late February. Very few people recieved it so I find that odd too

Every year people come on this webpage and claim that something (short of a likely letter) suggests they know whether or not they are admitted before the deadline. Without fail, the day admissions goes out everyone is disappointed to learn that whatever contact, change in the online system, or other thing they experienced was completely random with regards to the final decision.

I’m sorry, but this is absolutely not an indicator either way of being admitted or not.

I don’t know if it means much after the fact. But I did get in!!! So maybe it did mean something.

I got in too! Maybe we’re on to something…

@cougar23, congratulations! I saw your posts in the U-M forum. I liked what you expressed over there. Now, it looks like you don’t need to choose between U-M and Tulane :-)

My son has been accepted to U-M, Brown, Duke. I am an extremely happy and proud Dad!

Definitely onto something. Congrats to both of you!

@wavelet Thank you! UM is a wonderful school, but I don’t have to have anyone “make” me love Brown. I didn’t think I stood a chance, but I could not be more excited!

For all future readers of this thread - my son did not receive ANY emails other than the initial account setup emails right after he applied in January, and he was ACCEPTED. Various emails and requests for FA information, etc. have no bearing whatsoever on the admissions decision. Brown does not telegraph decisions in this way!
