Hi
I am having a hard time choosing between CMU and UCB with Regents for Mechanical Engineering. I have looked at the ranking but I dont exactly trust them. I also do not want an overly competitive environment. If we were to disregard the financial aspect, which of these schools should I choose?
thanks

Still Berkeley. There are a lot more sub-branches within Mechanical Engineering in Berkeley (except aerospace field, phooey) and courses and faculties that will be specific to your interest as you study.

Berkeley engineering is not overly competitive. Your friends will be very helpful and you will need them to do your problem sets and understand the material. It’s just that classes are so hard that it is not a smart idea to compete when you’re trying to survive.

Thanks for the response, UpMagic. I still having a hard time choosing >.<

I heard CMU is better for hardware, Berkeley is better for software.
or is it the other way around?
