So... I am looking into grad school, and i'm not really sure about qualifications needed to get in. Currently I am a junior at Purdue with a Gpa of 3.38 in mechanical engineering. I will also likely take the GRE this summer.

I have a few questions....

1) What are grad programs (given my GPA) within reach? (Purdue would not be bad, but I would like to see somewhere else)

2) What are typical GRE exam scores needed to get into a decent program?

3) I've heard admissions pretty much disregards everything on an engineer's GRE except the math portion, is this true?

If I had to say I would like to go to one of Northwestern, Purdue, or Illinois. I'm open to suggestions. By the way my focus of study would be in combustion/thermodynamics.
