Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering?

Hi everyone. I am going into my second year at my California community college, and I plan on transferring to UC Berkeley next fall. I have been dwelling on whether or not I should major in civil engineering or mechanical engineering. I am interested in both fields because I like buildings, roads, and other infrastructure projects, which is what civil engineers work on. I also like building things hands on, which is what mechanical engineers tend to do more often. I just don't know which field will be easier to get a job in. I've heard that civil engineering will be growing rapidly in the coming years, but I also hear that it won't, whereas mechanical engineering has many different fields to get a job in, and that its field will always be in demand. I live in southern California, and I wish to get a job in this area if possible. In short, which field will it be easier to get a good, secure job in after graduating, and doesn't require too much traveling? I also intend on obtaining an MBA in the future.

I didn’t mean to post this thread, but would you please reply to the thread that I titled “Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering, which will be in more demand?” instead.
