I am in a community college in California and I would like to go on to med school in the future. However I am very confused because everyone tells me different things and I have no clue who to listen to. First of all I want to major in Dietetics because that is my plan B, I really like nutrition and health so if med school doesn't work out I want to have majored in something I like. In California there aren't that many universities with this major, I think there is only Cal sate long beach, Berkeley, Davis and that's basically it. However to transfer to Davis or Berkeley I need to finish so many science classes before I can transfer and most of them are in the pre-med requirements. I know many say that med school do not want you to take the pre reqs at a community college but I would have no option. if I go to cal state long beach I do not have to take these classes and I could transfer by next fall, but they say coming from a cal state I would be at a disadvantage. this is sooooo confusing! I am also thinking of moving to Arkansas to become a resident because according to their site if you are on the honors college you have a 90% chance of going to the med school in Arkansas, but that's a huge sacrifice and one that would not even be guaranteed. I have no problem also applying to O.D school I just want to be in this field. Any help I would very much greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance! :)
