Med School, Rejected NEED ADVICE NOW

<p>Hey my cousin has gone to school with my brother at the University of Rochester, unfortunately he was rejected from UMDNJ and Georgetown med schools, and I'm pretty sure the others he applied to. Do to the death of his mother after a prolonged period of cancer during his sophomore, his GPA was not to high, a 3.3 or 3.4. He has been extremely frustrated and it seems he is lossing his mind with this frustration anger and agressiveness. He has a rising curve in GPA, has a Neuroscience major. Would you guys reccomend any pointers, he attached a letter with his application to explain the problem with his mother. Also any schools to apply to would help, he has a residency in New York and New Jersey (his aunt's house in new york (he is currently an orphan so he lives with her) and my house in NJ). HE just got his Gtown reject today, any information would be VERY helpful in resolving this intense situation.</p>

Morehouse
Meharry
Ponce School of Medicine.</p>

<p>Very easy to get into, then he can transfer out his second year. This way he won't lose a year.</p>

<p>Transferring from one med-school to another is no walk in the park by any means.</p>

<p>Not to mention that kipling forgot to state that for the Ponce School of Medicine, students have to be fluent in Spanish --Much of the coursework is given in that language.</p>

<p>Yea, I don't think transferring is a very general commonplace process like it is in college. The only person I know that did it was one of my cousins from Univ of Vermont to Tufts after his second year and in order to do so he had to have a cause that his mom was ill in boston and needed to return home for that.</p>
