Med School vs. Business School vs. Law School Majors

If you are unsure of what direction of field you want to go to, would it be ok to major in biology? This would get pre-med reqs out of the way, which is the only school you need pre-reqs for. So, does a bio major have a chance to get into business school and law school? What are the usual majors for these 2?

You may want to give this some more thought. You have plenty of time. I take it you are a graduating hs senior getting ready for undergrad? Try being undeclared and taking some bio, business and political science or law classes and see which one you prefer...then declare your major or perhaps consider double majoring.

Business schools usually require a sampling of business classes (Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Management,...) in order to be regularly admitted.

Bio would work great for Med School and also be ok for Law School.

Hmm, would a Bio major and business or econ. minor be good?

keep in mind if u go to a pre-med undergrad, taking bio will be super-competitive, since u'll be up against a class full of students trying to get into med school.

if ur goal is med school, then u really just have to cut it. but if want a high GPA for the other two programs, u could probably find some easier program to get a top GPA than pre-med.

Do bio only if you're interested in the subject. If not, it will work against you. There isn't really an advantage to majoring in bio. Med schools don't care about major. Bio majors tend to be premeds (meaning there will be tough curves) and knowing too much bio may lead you to incorporate too much knowledge on the MCAT (beyond what is given in the prompts) and get questions wrong.

Likewise, law schools and business schools dont care about major. For law school, numbers matter most - try to get the highest LSAT score and GPA you can. For business school, work experience plays a great role so think of how you can position yourself to get valuable experience after college.
