I'm interested on it but I have a few doubts.
What kind of classes are you taking? Do you think it's a good program?
what made you choose it?

This is a limited access major. So there are not THAT many who major in this, and there may not be any who post on CC.

I studied English Literature and Media Studies (double major). I graduated about 10 years ago, so I can only offer my perspective from that era at F.S.U. I was accepted into the school of Communication with around a 3.5, after completing my first two years. I studied media law, tv and radio business (and technical aspects), internet, and general communication history. My favorite courses were in the film department, as Media Comm. majors we were allowed to sign up for certain film classes. A few cons come to memory. I didn’t enjoy the larger, more impersonal classes. Some classes were interesting and creative… but others were solely textbook and multiple choice tests (when they could have been a lot more interesting). At one point, I considered switching my focus to advertising… because I felt a little limited in the department. However, my overall experience as a Media Communication major was a positive one. I would say, between my two degrees, I enjoyed my literature courses more than media studies.

A couple of my friends with media degrees (from FSU) went on to use them after graduating. One, interned with MTV and is still working for the company. Another friend worked on radio and tv stations and is now in P.R. Interning is really important in this field. I have never used my degree in media studies! I run my family business. Good luck deciding!
