Hi,

I was hoping that someone could recommend a book about medical ethics and/or healthcare policy. I am interested in the science, the philosophy, and the poli sci behind the issues.

Thanks

Bodenheimer's a good author.

Feldstein "Health Policy Issues" is a good policy book

Did you by any chance use Bodenheimer's book(s) in your econ classes as an undergrad?

I've also been looking for a good book to help me understand the US health care system and health policy. Feldstein's seems to be very expensive on Amazon, so I'm leaning towards ordering Bodenheimer/Grumbach's "Understanding Health Policy".

No, I didn't actually read the Bodenheimer book in question -- but I've read several journal articles by him and he's a very good author. So I can't endorse the book per se, which is why I endorse the author.

I actually just took a medical ethics class this last semester. I would strongly recommend our required reading, Gregory Pence's Medical Ethics. It provides an overview of almost any topic you can conceive and asks the tough questions. Enjoy!
