To anyone that has any knowledge about this whatsoever. How did the insurance situation work out? I called my provider and they told me my insurance couldn’t be used out of state and of course the school I’m going to requires medical insurance so I’m wondering if I have to apply for insurance in Massachusetts which would be an uphill battle? Thanks to @reknihtrevo for recommending starting a new thread!
Not sure if this works, but many times employer provided insurance can be changed mid year due to life changing events. If kids moving out of state counts, you may change to one that covers MA in September
Does the school have a suggestion? We don’t have this problem but I thought on a form I signed there was an option for help from school???
I emailed my AO waiting for her to get back to me but in the package, they sent id did say I need existing medical insurance. So I don’t know if she will be much help.
Yeah I asked them about that too and she told me “no it’s a situation in which it would count”. The reason I’m a little more worried is because I have braces and I don’t know what will happen.
You will probably get something from the school with information on enrolling in the plan they make available. You can drop your kid from your policy as a qualifying event. The school plans are often a good value, but you should make sure you have the coverage you need for vacations, for a serious illness that sends kid home, etc.
