Medical Leave

I am a junior at a small college. I am majoring in something that is very technical, and not many schools have it. I have not felt well the entire semester (spring 14) because of drs apts i have left class early or missed it all together. The first thing the found was gallbladder and i had that out. Since I have had other, harsher symptoms, I have now missed a total of 17 classes and its only midterms. I even missed some of my midterms for being on bed rest. I am heavily invovled and a stressful load.

Should i take a medical leave? How does it work? Will it make me stay an extra year?what happens to scholarships?

yes boo u need to take medical leave. focus on getting better! speak with the dean of students or your adviser asp! a lot of people take a semester off it’s no big deal, but please make sure you don’t make any decisions which will have irreversible consequences for your health…

First thing first–gather information. Don’t expectt people here to know how it works at your college. Make an apt and go find out how the leaves and the money is handled. Do it asap in case there is any deadline for partial refunds for the semester so you won’t just be out all the money perhaps.
