Hey- DODMERB recently denied me for two things.. the first because have arch problems in my feet (although I wear orthodics and don't have any problems) and the second was because of a family history of bi-polar disorder, which I don't and have never had. However, West Point's doctors also looked at the DQ. After they recieved it no more than a few days ago, today I looked on the website and saw "USMA- Medical Waiver denied". I was wondering if their is anything I can do about this? Can I have more tests done at my expense? The problems arn't that significant really, and my parents and I are extremely confused why I would be denied so fast without even a phone call or additional testing. So my question is... Is their anything that I can do from this point on? Can I have additional testing done to help pass my case?? Anyone who's been their would be some great help. Hoping for some good news...

Hey I got my answer on another forum! If you have any questions about it just ask.

I'm glad you received the advice you needed. Getting past DoDMERB can often be a challenging process, and one that varies from case to case.

The usual course of events (the situation you described did not really fit the norm) is that, you fill out your medical history form and have a physical exam. Based on that information DoDMERB either finds you qualified, asks for more information/testing (remedial), or disqualifies you. Waivers are handled by WP. They decide (based on your candidate file) if they will pursue a waiver on your behalf. A waiver means you have the disqualifying condition but they will accept it. As discussed previously, WP candidates cannot pursue waivers on their own, but they can rebut the diagnosis if they feel they have been incorrectly diagnosed (provide documentation and tests to disprove the diagnosis).

Good luck!
