I have called up and tried to schedual a medical exam and was told that I was not in the system. Does this mean that my liason officer did not contact them yet ?Or do I have to wait to see if i get a nomonation and then I schedual a med exam ? I am a little confused, I have a phone call and email into my Liason officer.

Get on that, the DODMERB should have contacted you imediately. I had my med exam packet given to me early july, and I had to schedule exams for Aug. Now because of my braces, a bunch of paperwork needs to get done. And I have a feeling that the process is going to take a few months, so this should be your top priority.

army2012: Your MALO or admissions officer will be able to tell you if WP has requested a DoDMERB exam (and help you if there has been a paperwork mixup). WP needs to put in the request before DoDMERB can schedule your exam. WP puts in requests based on file strength. Another way to get into the DoDMERB system is to apply for an ROTC scholarship - do you have ROTC as a backup plan?

Good luck!

thanks ... I have gotten into this app process late ... i am being recruited for a sport and was just given all of this info about three weeks ago... i sent out my nomonation application to all of my congressmen. and have an email/call into my liason officer... i guess its just a waiting game for now

It's cool that you're being recruited, but make sure you're headed to West Point for the right reasons. I think it'd be great to see you at R-day, but I am reading Absolutely American and it amazes me how many cadets reported that they considered leaving before the cow commitment as an option. My opinion, but why should they get a free ride? The USMA was not established to give civilians free schooling, it was to produce excellent officers to lead our great nation's army.

ha believe me that is not the reason at all... I have wanted to go to west point for as long as i can remember..I have wanted to be in the military my whole life...and want to be a carrear offircer... ye believe me the free ride is not wats pulling me in at all

I didnt think so, just re-emphasizing the point to anyone who happens to read the post.

army2012, are you on service academy forums? jw...

i may have been but forgot my password and just stopped looking there why do you ask ?

yah! I've been granted a waiver for my "Current Orthodontics" so my medical DQ shouldn't be the reason I dont get in.
