Hi guys! I’m torn between biology and medicine, science, and the humanities major for JHU. Is anyone familiar with the MSH major at JHU and can tell me more details about it? Personally, for me, I like humanities and find this major interesting, but most of my ECs are geared towards biology/pre-med (hospital volunteering, research internships, etc), so I’m wondering if it’d look odd if I’m applying for this major that’s somewhat science, but based on humanities? Thanks!
I asked the JHU rep when she visited my school and it’s basically a major that addresses the increasing demand of well-rounded applicants for medical school. It’s pretty new, as you probably know, so I don’t really know a lot about it, but if you think it’s a good choice, go for it! You don’t declare a major until sophomore year anyways! Just be straightforwards with why you want to try the major.
I’m confused. I’m fairly confident that the very point of this major is to address people like you @curiouswonder who are passionate about medicine but also have an interest in the humanities.
