So I was accepted to Medill School of Journalism...not my top choice, but still realllyyyy excited! :) I'm a bit worried though because I've read a post saying that the workload in Medill is excessive, and it would be hard to survive unless I love "journalism" itself, not just writing. I guess it's a little warning right there, to enjoy the huge amount of work I'm going to get if I decide to attend this school. I read from college prowle/r that the daily-medill- student-schedule is a <sleep-study-eat-sleep> pattern, with almost nonexistent dating scenes. Is this true? Thanks so much!!:)</sleep-study-eat-sleep>

My daughter rooms with two Medill students and their daily life is so not like that! I’m pretty sure her they are pretty typical. One of the girls has been dating a guy for 1 1/2 years and belongs to a sorority plus they just did Dance Marathon. I wouldn’t worry about what I read on college *******.

Medill students complain more than any other students for the least reason. It’s not any harder than an average WCAS major and it’s a lot easier than pre-meds or McCormick.

Medill’s workload is very manageable and pretty average compared with the rest of the humanities and social sciences. Agree with arbiter’s point, academic demands are definitely less than the sciences esp. if pre-med, much less than engineering. They’re as out there socially as you’d expect from a group that’s generally more adept in the “social graces.” Dating failures? I have a feeling the majority would disagree - strongly (though I’m not sure fact checking would support all of their assertions in this regard). :)

PHEW! that’s a relief hahaha. Thanks so much guys!! Good luck to all of us who’re getting more results this week!!!

Congrats on your acceptance. My daughter is a junior and very interested in Medill. Would you mind sharing your stats? Thank you.
