Meeting with Grduate Advisor.

Hello Guys,

I have finished MS and planning to go for PhD in Electrical Engineering, Communication.

I am going to see graduate advisor of a Phd school where I am planing to apply; to discuss chances to get in that particular grad school.

Kindly, advise me how should I approach the advisor, which Doc. should I carry with me?

Talk shop. Evade “So what are my chances of getting in?” questions/discussions and don’t talk about funding unless the GA brings either topic up.

Focus on talking about your research interests and experiences, their labs/program… the focus of the conversation should be about finding a good fit for both of you. And be yourself!

Don’t carry anything with you- if they ask for your CV, offer to e-mail afterward.
