Has anyone that has applied for ED received a brochure from Cornell about the 3 scholarships and eligibility?

I called the office to enquire about why this was mailed. I was told that all applications are reviewed and those that have applied for financial aid and qualify for the the scholarship based on the past service hours/leadship qualities are mailed the brochure. However, the final decision is based on the commitee that reviews these applicants.

Any information from others will be helpful. My son has some EC's - Eagle rank from Boy Scout. National Art Honor society. Nationa Merit scholarship - commended.

Don't get too excited about the financial apects of the "Tradition Scholarship". My d is in the Tradition. The amount of the award is based on financial need. Based on Fafsa info, as we were not eligible for aid, we received the mimimum amount which is a $600/ year "book award". What was more helpful, is that it is part of the Tradition to work 200-250 a year. So my d is working in one of the offices on campus. She had to find the employment on her own. As she makes about $60-70 bucks a week, I haven't been sending her any extra pocket $, so I guess I am saving a few thousand a year. If you do have a financial need, the Tradition is more generous. She was not notified ABOUT THE tRADITION UNTIL AFTER THE aPRIL ACCEPTANCE LETTER. (sorry about the caps). Hope this info was helpful.

Did your daughter apply for ED or regular decision? - since you heard from Cornell in April? Good to know that my son might not get the full amount if selected. I am a single parent. I wonder if this has any bearing in the equation.

Hi! My d applied RD to ILR and they have rolling admission. She got her acceptance in February. But the "big acceptance" envelope with all the information comes in April. She got her Tradition letter sometime after the "big envelope" came probably around 4/10.
