Monday
We have a 9ish mile hike planned

We watched it today too. First soccer game I’ve watched in awhile. I don’t watch sports like I used since my watching buddy (younger S) is usually gone at school.

Of the 3 games I’ve watched so far today. The Champions League Final was the worst. Way more energy in the other 2 games

I ran today and watered some new plants. Also shopping for a new bed (maybe) … details in another thread.

Tomorrow I will go back to church, in-person … with mask. We’ve been watching recorded services from home for almost 15 months, so it will be good to see people in person. Like many denominations, our membership is aging and shrinking. So there will be some good spacing. I think no singing.

It’s been a crazy 10 days here. We got back at midnight last Monday from the west coast for our daughter’s graduation. Our older son arrived home from college that day and unloaded all his college paraphernalia in the garage and small basement. We had little time for catch up b/c our high school senior’s graduation activities ramped up.

Baccalaureate Mass was Friday night. Weather predictions moved it from outside on the turf into their athletic center. Good move, because a torrential downpour arrived about 20 minutes before Mass ended. We were completely soaked running to the car (I had to remove my sandals as the puddles were ankle deep). The temp had also dropped about 20 degrees so soaked and freezing for the 45 min drive home.

Yesterday was his graduation. It was damp, drizzly, 50 degrees with 15 mph winds. Fortunately after the ceremony, the rain held off so we were able to take pictures with all his friends. I couldn’t wait to get home and put on warm sweats! We then met my parents for dinner at a waterfront restaurant to celebrate. Not long after we sat down it started pouring again but luckily stopped before we finished eating.

Late last night I had to pick up one of the midshipman (Naval Academy) we sponsor with all of his belongings to store at our house. He spent the night and left at crack of dawn for a flight home. His stuff is scattered amidst my son’s.

I had planned on a relaxing day of recuperation today from our trip/two back to back graduations. However, yesterday afternoon, our other midshipman texted and asked if she could spend the night tonight. She is flying back here this afternoon and needs a ride from the airport. She proceeds to say she needs to stop by the Academy to get her belongings, and that “it might take two trips b/c I have a lot of stuff.” Umm, she already moved her stuff here a week ago! I have no idea where she will sleep or put all this stuff. The only open bed is covered with all the uniforms/garment bags she left here before! Good thing we had no social plans - I have two hours to figure out how to organize/store three college kids’ worth of belongings - we do not have a big house!

So it does not feel like Memorial Day weekend at all - we normally would be at the beach two hours away. Obviously we couldn’t go this year, but it is 50 degrees today, cloudy and damp again so not a beach weekend weatherwise anyway. I had to put my heat back on! My son was supposed to go to a graduation pool party at a classmate’s but it is not swimming weather. :disappointed:

Tomorrow looks slightly promising - no rain and 70 degrees forecast. Maybe we will do an impromptu cookout with our neighbors.
