If this guy is a slim cut…these shirts will be too wide! Ask me how I know!
My H used to get his shirts from Bean too but they are now cut too wide for his frame.
I was going to suggest Costco too. That’s where Hubby gets his work shirts.
He likes the The BB Madison fit but he’s a large man and has issues with limited patterns for big men. He also hates button down and that seems to be a common trend.
I’ll have to check out Hugo Boss, Nordy’s, Lands End, CT, and the M den!
Nordstrom has a sale twice a year and Hugo Boss shirts are included…some of them. But they are very expensive anyway. Like 4 times the cost of a shirt at Costco….maybe more.
Tell me more about these slim cut men….
Lands End has a greater selection of shirts than LL Bean.
Yes, Brooks Brothers’ quality has declined. Their dress shirts are definitely not worth $118.
I believe you can return Nordstrom . com items to Nordstrom Rack. You can definitely return NordstromRack . com to Nordstrom stores.
I think that depends! We think the Hugo Boss and Nordstrom dress shirts are worth it. My DH has never had much success with dress shirts from Costco because they just don’t fit him.
The last couple of dress shirts my husband bought were from Jos. A. Bank. They were reasonably priced and well made. Seemed to have a variety of cuts for different shaped bodies!
We had good luck the few times they had slims in stock. But the store close to us…closed…oh well. They also had really nice sweaters.
I confirm this. Just returned my Nordstrom online loot to the local Rack.
S19 will need a couple of dress shirts for interviews and for graduation in May. He’s very thin & isn’t having success with finding shirts that fit him. His school is relatively rural and is 90 minutes away from any larger city, so he doesn’t want to drive that far just to look around. Maybe he’d consider something he saw online. Looking for suggestions, preferably in a budget range. TIA.
Edit: no iron
@Creaky Charles Tyrwhitt has slim and extra slim shirts, no iron. They often have sales. Bonobos , Men’s Wearhouse have slim. Good luck and congratulations to your son!
Bean has many shirts now listed as slim fit—are even those too wide??
Sounds like if your hubby turns sideways he disappears! (just kidding)
“Slim fit” is apparently interpreted quite differently by US and Euro makers.
My son is very slim and has found Hugo Boss shirts fit him well. Sadly, they require ironing.
The no-iron J. Crew shirts came out of the dryer unwrinkled. I think the fit wasn’t as good as Hugo Boss, or perhaps it was the patterns? Something must have prompted him to pay up for Hugo Boss as he doesn’t spend a ton on clothing.
Hugo Boss outlets sometimes run sales. He got four shirts there for $250 this summer.
@Creaky Looks like J.Crew does have some no iron slim dress shirts for $79 , with 30% off currently. Charles Tyrwhitt often has sales, like 3 shirts for $99.
Yes. They are like the old regular widths. Seriously.
Hmm, OK, thanks for the reply. Finding slim fit shirts has never been a necessity for me, lol.
