I recieved something in the mail about a mentoring program, as an incoming freshman is it worth joining?

I'm curious about this too :)

I'm considering joining it. Why? I need to know where the food is.

can anyone tell us more about the program?

im curious too. anyone??

Unless you have trouble making friends and adjusting to things on your own, it's a worthless pain.

i signed up for the mentorship program last year.. and i got a peer mentor who was a sophomore and three other kids who were all studying business like i was (they put you together in groups with similar studies).. honestly, the mentorship program is what you make of it.. my group only met twice through out the whole school year (both times in september) and didnt keep in touch at all for the rest of the year.. but if you do want to be actively involved in it, you can..

the mentorship program basically consist of an older person (usually a soph or jr) to give you basic advice and some peers (three other peers, in my case) so you have a couple "friends" before you actually get to the university.. i personally didnt get anything out of it because i found older brothers and sisters elsewhere to look up to, and didnt have too much trouble meeting people.. but you can try it and just not be involved in it (like i did).. it doesnt hurt..

and flong, im sure people on cc can tell you where all the food is haha

If I'm applying to the business school after my freshman year will joining the mentorship program have any affect on my application?

in what aspects?? do you mean like.. will it look good/impressive? in that case, nope not really

if you mean like.. will mentorship get in the way of the bschool, NOPE not really.. haha
