Merchant Banking Internship?

I'm an incoming sophomore that just finished his freshman year at college. I recently got an offer for a very small boutique merchant banking firm. I don't think this firm is very well known and I don't think I'll be doing actual financial modeling or analyst work. It's also unpaid. The thing is, before I knew I was going to get an internship, I already signed up for two online classes from my college that's taking up a lot of my time.

My question is: is this internship worth the effort? I got this internship through a friend referral that currently works there and he is usually really tired after work. This on top of my classes, I can predict that my entire summer will be difficult. But, I do agree that it's a good opportunity especially since I'm just a freshman.

Are you interested in merchant banking? Take the classes and do the internship. You have to get used to long hours anyway. Since you’re not paid they’ll work with your schedule to give you more study time. They don’t want you to fail. So yes do it and love it.

How can you not do the Internship?

a no-brainer

not many kids in college at your age get this wonderful opportunity
