Same here. No response for the FIRST Scholarship but since she didn’t get contacted for an interview, I take it as a negative as well.
My son received notice of acceptance via postal mail late last week. When does notification of any merit aid come?
@Brownsl same thing here. Wondering about any aid.
@hbs2018 I think I read somewhere that the aid letter follows several days after the admitted letter.
@Brownsl okay sweet. Hope to see it this week!
My son is getting a letter today from RHIT. Hopefully, it is merit scholarship info.
My son did receive a nice merit scholarship today.
Rose Hulman is on my daughter’s long list, however it has the HIGHEST net price for us. I know the net price doesn’t include merit aid, but it doesn’t sound like they give out many or enough merit aid to bring down the price substantially. Is my thinking correct? Should we go on and mark it off our list? I think it would be a great fit for her, but we can’t go into that much debt. uwgpa = 3.95 wgpa=4.33. ACT=35 She goes to a STEM academy located on a college campus where she takes all college classes (unior and senior years).
My son’s stats were fairly similar to your daughters. He had a 4.0 uwgpa with almost all honors or ap classes, 34 act, 1530 sat, national merit scholar, was being recruited for the swim team. I knew Rose didn’t give huge scholarships but we were very disappointed to only get $18,000/year. That just didn’t bring the cost down nearly enough when he was being offered such good scholarships to other schools so sadly he ended up somewhere else.
Well, if they are serious about providing good education to good students, they need to figure out a way to make it more affordable. It is ridiculous to have a total bill of $70k per year, before scholarship. Amounts to scam in my books!
