essays and recs fairly good

Ethnicity: Asian

Just wanted to know what kind of scholarships I may be able to get, you can also chance me for if I'll get in or not.

You’re chance to get in seems pretty high. However, your chance of good scholarships is really hard to predict as nobody really knows the exact metrics they use for giving them out. None the less, I would assume that you could expect something in terms of aid.

Anyone else please reply?

You’re going to get the same answer from me. I think you will be admitted, but merit aid is the big question. With your stats you might be eligible for some money, but I don’t think you are a shoe in for a scholarship.

Not to hijack this thread but if I had a 33 and 2070 could I expect at least presidents if I’m out of state?

I wouldn’t “expect” anything necessarily. It depends on your whole application. My daughter had a 33 ACT and did receive the presidential scholarship, but the rest of her stats were also very high. What are your stats?

I have stopped trying to figure out how UMCP awards merit. As stated by @terpmom7, do not expect anything. I have seen students post stats who received merit from UMCP and others with higher stats overall who did not.

@terpmom7 5.7/6.0, 12th in my class, good ECs

Assuming you took a very rigorous course load and that your essays are good, you certainly have a shot at the presidential. @BLUEPH‌ is correct though, it’s very hard to say whether or not for sure.

@terpmom7 thanks for all the info. One more quick thing. I’ve been looking everywhere but haven’t gotten a straight answer. Am I allowed to send just my 2 ACTs and not my 2 SATs?

UMD requires you send in ALL test scores.

Sorry @terpmom7 for jumping in. Forgot the question was addressed to you.

@plzletmeincolege‌ , this is what the website says:
All official standardized test scores, sent directly by the Educational Testing Service (SAT code for Maryland is 5814) or the ACT Program (ACT code for Maryland is 1746). We use the highest subscores from the SAT and ACT in our review of your application.

So, they want all the scores, both SAT and ACT. They say they only look at the highest scores for admissions purposes.

thanks guys

@plzletmeincolege‌ no prob… ;)
