I send in my University of Maryland Freshman Application one month ago by the priority deadline and I am afraid that I won't get in . I have a low SAT scores. 340 in reading, 370 in math , 370 in writing, and a composite score of 1080. I do plan on taking the SAT again. I have an ACT composite score of 18, but I'll take the ACT in December 2008.. I gotten a 2.63, 2.75, 2.88, 3.13, and 2.81 in my freshman year. Then finally, I currently have a 3.75 GPA. In my sophomore year I got 3.75, 3.88, 3.63, 3.75, and 3.81. In my junior year I got 3.75, 3.75,3.63,3.75, and 3.69. I joined the school newspaper and National Honor Society(NHS). I done some community service such as planting trees, and cleaning at a community center. I currently in School Newspaper, National Honor Society, The Shakespeare Club(an drama club), The Science Fair Club, and I am tutoring 9th graders who needs help in their classes. My cumulative GPA is 3.44. I am in the Top 25% of my class in my high school, and I have a learning disability. What are my chances at UMD-College Park?

are you in state?

I've seen some low-income black/hispanic kids get in with almost similar stats... if you're not one, then i don't think your chances are great. although, with that learning disability. i hope your counselor sent something in about that, because UMD might be understanding .

BTW, your ACT score is much better than your SAT. i hope you sent those and not the SATs. because you likely won't get in with a 1080 unless you're playing for Gary Williams!

your test scores are only holding you back, if ur a minority in state my guess is ull get in

yes I am in state. I sent both the SAT & the ACT scores to UMCP. My counselor did mentioned about my learning disability in the guidance recommendation. How can UMCP be understanding about my learning disability.

yes; I am in state resident.

yes defiantly, if u write a good essay i wudnt be surprised if u got in, but i wudnt b surprised if u didnt, i say its like a high match

I wrote a good essay. It was about I risk that I encountered. I use one of my extracurricular activities called "The Shakespeare Club".

Please clarify what you are saying to me?
