@cc1313 yes, I was awarded the 10,000/year scholarship (I forget the name) but have not received anything about honors college
@Runnergirl226 if you haven’t received anything with a U of MN ID# give them a call. You’ll need that to check your Tracker. Honors College will first appear on the Tracker, although my D17 did get a regular mail letter about a week later.
Scholarships are regular mail only, although guessing they will also show up on your Fin. Aid portal sometime in Feb. or March.
My S was accepted into CSE on 11/15 but nothing on Honors College or merit. I know that honors is tough for CSE and he is probably below the bar for that, but he has a 3.886 UW/4.0 W GPA, 32 ACT, 27/402 rank and lots of EC so I am a bit surprised by no merit at this point.
If he has not heard about Presidential Scholarship or National Scholarship at this point,am I to assume he is not in the running for it?
Don’t know why I never noticed but I think someone said on another thread the Honors Program rolls out through February. Found this on the UMN website!

@cc1313 I was just able to get into my application tracker and I actually did get accepted into the honors college
I’ve been accepted to CBS honors and haven’t gotten any news of scholarships. Is it likely I’ve missed out?
My son was admitted to CSE/Physics and honors college in early November. The national OOS scholarship offer came a few weeks later.
Freshman Invitation
Each freshman applicant to the University of Minnesota is carefully reviewed for admission to the University Honors Program. Invitations to join are offered to the most competitive applicants from each freshman-admitting college.
Do I need to apply?
No, there is no separate honors application for prospective freshmen!
What are invitation decisions based on?
Competitiveness for honors admission is determined by a holistic review, taking all elements of an applicant’s University application into consideration, with emphasis placed upon rigor of high school curriculum, grade point average, high school rank, and ACT or SAT test scores.
When will I hear if I’ve been invited?
All students invited to join UHP will be notified by the end of March of their senior year of high school.
What if I’m not invited?
Don’t worry, you can apply after freshman year.
