Merit Aid?

Has anyone admitted RD been awarded a merit scholarship?

Does anyone know the details of Lehigh's National Merit scholarship? Their webpage says students who are NMFs will be awarded $1K or $2K. Does anyone know how they decide which you'd get, and is that per year, or just a one-time award?

I was admitted with the Dean’s Scholarship of $10,000 in 2012. It’s been raised to $12,000 now, so $6,000 per semester. If the merit aid increases again, you will receive the same award though; I asked about increasing my scholarship from $10,000 to $12,000, but it was only from this or last year on, which is really unfair. I forget the exact statistic, but only very few students receive merit aid/Dean’s Scholarships. It was somewhere less than 10% I believe, but don’t quote me on that.

As for the National Merit scholarship, good question, but I believe it should be every year. I didn’t receive it, so I wouldn’t know, though I’d expect that the higher your PSAT score is, the award you receive is higher. I’d suggest to contact the financial aid office.

i’ve been awarded the trustee’s scholarship (half tuition) plus a women in stem scholarship (10,000 per year). let me know if you’d like me to PM you my stats!

My D received the Deans scholarship of $12k and applied RD. it was a nice surprise.

For those who were awarded scholarships this year, how was it communicated?

It appeared on the financial aid tab and listed as the Deans scholarship. We haven’t received the acceptance packet yet but it is probably detailed in there too.

Received the Dean’s Scholarship packet today!!

Anyone who received the Dean’s or similar scholarships care to post basic stats?

I got full tuition after asking them to reconsider my dean’s scholarship. I had to write a merit appeal too.

ACT: 34
12/432 in my class

The founder’s scholarship (full tuition) is awarded “to select students in the top 1% of our applicant pool” according to Lehigh.

I was admitted with the Dean’s Scholarship of $10,000 per year in April 2012 as well. I was regular decision with no financial aid. Applicants are automatically considered for the scholarships so you do not have to apply for the merit scholarships.
