Hi I'm the cousin of AnnaSmith, and I'm instate and applied to UCONN. I got accepted, but I was wondering if merit aid was awarded along with decisions? I did not complete the FA forms yet and will, but I'm in the top 1% of my graduating class and was told that I could possibly receive a full ride due to my rank. Is this true that if you're valedictorian or salutatorian (or highly ranked) you could get a full ride? Would I know if I did though I already got accepted? Thanks!

That will come a little later.

UCONN offers a couple merit scholarships that you must apply for (especially if you're looking for a full ride). I don't think they give out full rides simply because you are at the top of your class. Unfortunately, the due dates for those scholarships were in the late fall 2008...but I think there is still a chance of getting some money even if it's not a full scholarship.

I believe that valedictorians get full rides, and you do not have to apply for that.

Omniscient is right, Vals and Sals automatically get full- and half-rides, respectively.
