Merit Based Aid

I dont qualify for need based aid, so I’m wondering what it takes to get some decent merit based aid at BU.

My GPA is 3.7uW and a 31 ACT w/ pretty solid extracurriculars.

I would be applying to the School of Management.

Could anyone give me a ballpark figure on how much aid they would give me?

Thanks

No, but make sure that you fill out the FAFSA and any other FA documents…Boston University is one of the only schools I know of that DO NOT give merit aid without those forms being submitted (even if you are not FA eligible)

My daughter has similar statistics and received 10k/year (Dean’s Scholarship). We were not eligile for financial aid.

how did you find out that they do not give merit based aid if you don’t apply for finaid?
i dont think i will qualify but i am hoping to at least get the university scholarship. so i should still apply for finaid??

seth: when my daughter applied in 2008, her college counselor told her that little known rule…don’t know if its changed since then

Let me clarify: we suspected that we would not be eligible for financial aid, but we also knew that for our daughter to be considered for scholarships/merit aid, we had to fill out the FAFSA and apply for financial aid.
