Merit Scholarship Availability

Montegut,
My dd#2 is hoping to get into Genetic Engineering…is applying to Marquette as well as some other schools. Thanks for the reality check that perhaps applying for Honors Programs may be a bit of a strain.

My daughter chose Marquette over instate University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. With her scholarships, it’s only costing us about 8,000 more a year. She didn’t really want to go to U of I, since it felt all the kids would be just like her high school friends. Also, she got into Marquette’s PT program.
She also chose to forego an honors application, thinking (rightly) that her program would be challenging enough.

MTJTravller,

Thanks for the CU info. My son got accepted into CU’s business school. We could not afford the out of state tuition even after their scholarship offer. MU was a back up school and one we could afford. I have a niece from the Denver area who said the same thing about going to school in state. They consider it lame now, but just wait…Thanks.
