I am currently living in PA on a Visa, but I have lived here for more than 5 years. I see on UPitt’s website that I can qualify for in-state tuition through necessary documents? Is there someone that can validate this information, because most schools will not give in-state to visa-holders. I already was accepted to UPitt. My SAT is 1470 and my GPA is a 3.9/4.0 on a weighted scale. I answered all 3 questions, and they were seemingly well-written. What range of merit scholarships can I expect if I remain on an out-of-state label? What about if I switch to in-state?
@unknowndexterity Congratulations on your acceptance and impressive stats. For a very serious question like this, I’d advise you to call and speak with a real human being in the admissions office. If they aren’t the correct people to speak with they will direct you to the people who can answer your questions and help you make the right decision. They are there to help you, please take advantage of that opportunity.
Best of luck!
I believe no the website they state the general range for merit starts at a 1480. That would be for in-state and out of state. Hard to tell with your international status. You may be in range for diversity scholarships. Without that niche I would say you would get offered maybe $5,000 per year. It wouldn’t be full tuition or a huge award though. How much do you need to make Pitt affordable?
