Merit Scholarships at UNC

If you don't get an invite to Scholarship Day does that mean you will receive no merit aid if accepted next week? Does anyone know or have experience with this?

Just info: S is OOS and received likely letter last Nov and applied EA...

If you didn’t get a scholarship letter, there isn’t much chance of you getting merit aid. I was in your son’s situation a couple of years ago. However, there are two scholarship days. The majority of people invited to the second scholarship day in March will be from the regular decision pool, but some who applied EA will be invited as well. I still wouldn’t be too optimistic though. OOS is always competitive, and with the economy the way it is, competition is probably tougher than it has been in the past.

That being said, UNC is still second to none in terms of need based aid.

Thanks PackerFan. He got a full ride to U Pitt at Xmas but he is interested in both these schools. We will wait and see what happens.
