Hi there! Does anyone know about merit scholarships for the school? I’ve heard that some people get in on a full ride or whatnot… Does anyone have any experience confirming this or any info at all?

Thanks

Since there is a lot of financial hardship for the Cal States, merit money is scarce at Cal Poly. You can still get needs based money and supposedly everyone is looked at for what little merit money is available. My kid had similar ACT test scores as you and a 4.0 UW and a 4.4 CSU Weighted and got no merit money. He is currently a sophomore in ME and carries a near perfect GPA and still no merit money. Nevertheless, Cal Poly is a bargain compared to any UC and many privates and we love it. Clearly it is the best school for him and we have no regrets.

The best thing to do is apply locally for scholarships before you graduate, call the school and ask what you can apply for and look nationally as well. Leave no stone unturned.

jkhfdskjaf i know i wont get any financial aid…
now im afraid because i really want to go to this school but 23k is a lot

After your freshman year you can apply to be an RA or CA which if you are accepted you can save around 10,000 dollars
