Are Merit scholarships automatic if you apply early?

OSU will still award scholarships even without a class rank. It does seem that merit scholarships for those who met the 11/1 Early Action deadline are automatic based upon stats. However, per this link on the OSU website (http://undergrad.osu.edu/money-matters/scholarships.html) , it does say that scholarships are not guaranteed which is likely OSUs out if they simply run out of money because they have too many qualified applicants. Many that have been accepted and have met/exceeded the stats for scholarships have not yet been notified about their scholarship awards - that doesn’t mean they aren’t getting them, just means that OSU hasn’t mailed out the letters yet.
