How difficult is it to get one of the full ride scholarships? Does anyone know the basic stats of someone who received one of them?
And also, do all national merit finalists get the half-ride scholarship, or just some of them?

They pretty much go to high stat students that USC really wants, and who are likely to get into top colleges. My son is a Trustee scholar- SAT 2330, all 4 SAT subject tests were above 750, National Merit scholar, AP National Scholar, got into Dartmouth, Brown, Wash U, Chicago, Pomona. etc
To be eligible for the tuition scholarships, you have to apply before the deadline [ Dec 1] and then, if you are under considereation for a scholarship, you are invited to interview at USC with a committee made of a student and 2 faculty members. I believe no one gets a scholarship without the interview, but I could be wrong.

138 students last year received the Trustees (full scholarship) last year-

Yup, to get a Trustee scholarship for full tuition, you must interview. You can get the half tuition scholarship without an interview IF you are a national merit scholar. I got the trustee scholarship, and I had a 34 on my ACT and was a national Hispanic scholar, amongst other things. The standards seem to be getting harder each year!

it also depends on the department of your major, because you interview with members or your department, and they only have a certain number of scholarships to give out. you can interview for presidential and get trustee (although the opposite happens much mroe frequently). also, NMF get auto half scholarship but if awarded presidential as well you get extra money for being NMF, so make sure you interview if invited!

Does anyone know much about the Dean's (1/4) scholarship? Are the standards for that comparable to presidential and trustee? How about interviews?

If you are admitted under RHP you automatically get the Dean's scholarship. I got the Dean's last year as an RHP admit with a 34 act but my SAT was low (2070) which probably didnt put me high enough for any other scholarships. Dean's scholarship students are notified later than Presidential/Trustee's. Last year Presidential/Trustee's were notified late January/early February. I got notified of my acceptance and scholarship in March.

No interviews for Dean's scholarships. But they are required for Presidential and Trustee.
