As we all await those priority envelopes (we hope!), I would like to thank you for your help and your sense of humor in this process....Vanderbilt is the only school my daughter applied to that had such a human touch to the process and it really moved Vandy to the top of her list....(and her parents as well)...

Most importantly, you took time out of your busy days to put many stressful students at ease on CC and on the blog....It could not have been an easy season for any of you....

I completely agree. When we visited last summer with our D we all fell completely in love with Vandy and the admissions team we met that day. Our daughter applied EDI and is thrilled to be part of the Class of 2012. The other college choices all lost their appeal and charm. We look forward to revisiting the campus in August for the orientation and moving in day. Parents, make your hotel reservations for August and the fall weekend in Oct ASAP.

vanderbilt is alone among major universities in having such a human touch to the admissions process. we like to stick to tradition here which is one of the reasons admission decisions are sent in letters as opposed to the whole email thing

Thanks from me as well. As an American living overseas and trying to help her D get into US colleges, it's been challenging to say the least. We have no prep classes to speak of, no guidance counselor, no GPAs, teachers were even reluctant to write reccs for fear of being sued. We had to beg and beg to get everything done properly and in on time.

Vandy's and UVa's blogs were such great sources of information and helped to keep parents as well as students a little more calm during these anxious times. I wish other schools realized this.
