Hey guys, i just wanted to give a little message to ed'ers considering all the countdown stuff ive seen today. Everybody seems to be anxiously waiting for their outcomes and some people have started their own "bedroom countdowns" on their walls, haha. Yet i have a feeling more than half of you will be dissapointed by the outcome in a couple of weeks so id like to offer a word of condolensce. This may seem a bit premature yet i can tell the level of enthusiasm is high and hope is on high as well, so i have a feeling it will be a sense of despair when some of you get your letters of rejections/defferals. I couldnt help but post this thread because although i hope and sympathize with all of you about dec.15 or w.e. it may be, i hope all those that get rejected/deffered do not give up in your college hunt. Im only a junior in high school and im already scared of being in the position you guys are in. Having your fate decided by a couple of people in an office is not an easy thing to handle, and i seroiusly feel your anxiety. Anyway best of luck to all of you!

Thanks for your sympathy. I agree that way too many people have their heart's too set on a college before they are accepted. But if you do a good job in your college search, you should be able to find quite a few schools that you would be happy attending (there are alot out there); especially, find good safety schools. Personally, I would be very happy going to my safety school, which at the risk of sounding cocky, I am pretty sure I'll get into, so i'm not too worried about the ED decision. (though, I'd be lying if i said i wasn't a bit anxious)

I agree with Elgguj, this post wasnt too inspirational. Maybe the mood for these posts will be just right after the decisions come out, but right now, I dont even want to think about this stuff.

it wasnt really meant to be inspirational ...more like a "dont get too caught up in the moment cause rejection/defferal is always more than likely"

Actually, I'd like to thank you for this because I have to keep telling myself that there's a big chance I will get rejected/deferred and that I shouldn't get my hopes up too high. But too often, I get caught up in the CC enthusiam. So thanks for this reality check, that no what who you are, an ivy will always be a reach.

Also there is a good chance you will get a deferral and have to wait until April 1st to find out if your in. That happened to my D and then she received a guaranteed transfer after 1 yr at a different college. She had to apply again and wait to be accepted again after that yr. She finally made it to Cornell this past fall though and she loves it. So don't give up hope if you get defferred. Keep trying.
